We have trained with Martin for about 7 years. He has worked with us through various competitions including indoor and water rowing, snowshoeing and trail running and just overall fitness. Right from the beginning and consistently throughout our time together his focus is on safety and injury prevention. He is particularly adept at tailoring our sessions to meet the needs of our various sports and various intensities depending on where we are in our respective competitive seasons. We find his ability to understand our needs is particularly good as he can adapt the various exercises we do to fit the demands not only of our sport but also our ages, fitness levels and flexibility. If either of us has a particular problem with an exercise he is very good at explaining it another way – he understands that all people do not learn the same way and is never impatient if he has to find several ways of explaining something. All his sessions are interesting and he changes them up often enough to keep us motivated, challenged and eager to go to the next level. After seven years that type of dedication is hard to find. We both thoroughly enjoy working with martin and hope to do so for many years to come!


I started working out on my own two years ago. I lost a few pounds here and there, but since I met Martin my weight loss has been on a steady decline. Whenever we get to a plateau, he adjusts my diet plan accordingly and always helps break through the plateau.What I like about Martin, is that he’s very friendly and easy to talk to. He always has time for your questions and gives detailed answers. I started off at 387lbs and today I’m down to 255lbs. Martin has helped change my life immensely and I will be forever grateful to him.


Martin Bolduc is a certified trainer and it shows. He walks the talk. I have found Martin to be very professional and personable in his approach. I am very impressed by his knowledge, about everything from nutrition to tailored workout routines to produce results. He knows fitness, and how to achieve it. He has been there and done that himself and as a certified personal trainer who knows his stuff, he has the skills to share his knowledge.


When I first met Martin, I was a 54 year old couch potato who people assumed was fit because I was slim. In reality, I couldn’t do a single sit up nor could I lift any amount of weight other than with my legs. Once Martin had determined where I was at with my fitness and what some of my limitations were due to underlying old injuries and flexibility problems, he started me on a path to maximize my capabilities. As a result, I was able to tackle things I had never considered myself capable of. I learned to downhill ski, did the Ride to Conquer Cancer, do long weekly cycle rides, hikes, etc. It is not just the physical fitness that Martin builds, but also the self-confidence to take on new challenges. Martin never intimidates you. Martin is a master of encouraging you to test your limits without setting you up for failure – not an easy balancing act. I am now 62 years old, and in spite of some of the issues we all face with age, I am in the best shape of my life and looking forward to many more years of activity and enjoyment!


I’ve been training with Martin for 5 years. My youngest was 6 months old when we started; I was still working on losing the baby weight and decided it was time for some help. Martin spent a lot of time understanding what my goals were and encouraged me to set those goals even higher! At the time I thought he was crazy, but today I am absolutely thrilled with the results! Not only did I lose the baby weight, but I am now in much better shape than I would have ever dreamed possible! I often hear friends complain that they were injured while doing exercises chosen by their trainers, but I have never experienced an injury while working with Martin. In fact, he has been an important part of my recovery when I did suffer a serious knee injury (Ski). I fully trust him to push me beyond my comfort zone, but respect any true physical limitations that I might have and still design a well-balanced program that works for me. Martin is a very supportive trainer. He’s not the kind of trainer to shout or yell at your to try to motivate you. He continues to challenge me to try something I don’t think I can do, or by asking if we can try the same exercise with a heavier weight, even if I cannot do as many reps. If anything doesn’t feel right, we stop no questions asked. I have never had an injury working with Martin. After 5 years together I consider Martin to be not just a trainer, but a friend. I look forward to our training sessions each time. I truly believe that I have only seen a small part of the knowledge he has to offer, and I look forward to continuing my training with Martin. I often have people ask how I stay in such good shape and I always tell them it is my trainer. I work hard to achieve the results I have earned, but so many others work harder than me and don’t get the results. It reminds me of the old saying “work smarter not harder”.


My first personal-training session with Martin was back in 2009 and, since then, I have participated in several of his group sessions as well as more semi-private training sessions. I have been a regular gym attendee since my teen years, but recently Martin has shown me many new techniques and has acted as a mentor in demonstrating proper form and helping me reach my health and fitness goals.

I decided to make a change in my health after gaining a lot weight due to a sedentary lifestyle. I worked with Martin for 12 weeks in preparation for my first Bodybuilding Show. I had been training on my own for years – working out and lifting weights on a regular basis. In order to have fulfilled my dream to compete at the age of 35, I knew I would need the proper guidance and the right information. I have been training with Martin for 2 years. In that time, my energy levels have increased and my weight is down around 10 lbs. More than anything, I have definition that I’ve never had before. This is simply the result of the consistency of our workouts. I like the “scheduled” workouts. If Martin is waiting on me for a scheduled work out, I’m always going to show up. The workouts change every 4-6 weeks and that keeps me interested. The workouts are fun and Martin is good at keeping the atmosphere just right. He knows when you need to be pushed, and he also knows when you need a rest. I’ve never known what to do at the gym. Now I can go to the gym on my own and execute things on my own. I’m now familiar with nearly every piece of equipment in the gym and what muscles they target. Until now, I’ve never changed my eating habits. Martin finally convinced me to watch my diet and it’s made a world of difference. I’ve had personal trainers in the past but have never lasted this long or stayed this consistent. That’s a true testament to Martin being able to keep me interested and motivated.


When I turned 40, I decided to get back in shape and lose 20 lbs. However, I was concerned about a previous rotator cuff injury. After trying some young and relatively inexperienced trainers, I decided to try Martin with his Bolduc Method. This program is absolutely amazing!I lost 22 lbs in 12 weeks, and I don’t have any more problems with my shoulder and my rotator cuff! I have been working out as a hobby for years but never really had great form or the knowledge to take it to the next level. Lower back pain and limited flexibility began to hamper my workouts. I decided to seek professional help to coach me in the right direction and to strengthen my core. Training with Martin gave me the knowhow and motivation to step up my game and recover quickly. I’ve known Martin for a few years. When I decided to enter the INBF West Coast Natural bodybuilding competition I knew that he was the coach who would take me on stage in the best shape of my life. Martin met with me several times before I even entered the show, to help guide and advise me. With his training and nutrition plans, and daily motivation I placed second in lightweight Bodybuilding. This was my first competition and I was very happy with the outcome.
Martin was always available to help me with questions, recommendations and solutions. He worked around my busy work schedule and made every effort to make sure I stayed on track. He invested a lot of time and personal interest in ensuring that I learned and mastered the mandatory poses and also helped me with my show routine. Without him, I would not have made it onto the stage to win second place. I still use the training and nutrition advice that Martin gave me in my every day training. I will definitely be seeking his help again if I decide to enter another competition.

I was first motivated to see Martin as my fitness trainer due to his own story–I saw a poster that related his commitment to his health, fitness, and his ability to overcome adversity. Those things matter to me when I look for someone I want to help motivate me. I had been looking for someone as a motivator, who could model the behavior change I want in myself. From my first workout to now, he has been a friendly, encouraging guide. Since starting to workout with his guidance, I notice I am comfortable in a gym environment (and this matters to the 50+woman I am), and I know what good form feels like. Workouts with him are never boring; they are always full of fun and the sense there will be something new to learn. Martin has helped me with my food by showing me specifics. He showed me I was off balance with things I thought were healthy choices, and how they were sabotaging my weight-loss goals. Trail mix, gone! I gained new awareness of protein intake and hydration. I appreciate how he is reliable, he always wants the best for me, and he keeps track of my accomplishments and training record. For over 2 years now, or is it 3, Martin is the reason I go to the gym when I do. Either to meet him there or to go for myself because I have learned how to make my time there counts.
